One has to celebrate when one has the opportunity. The 20th anniversary of the tournament coincided with the year in which a new Martina is crowned a winner in Filderstadt. Martina Hingis fulfils her “mother’s dream” by winning the recently-launched latest Porsche model but the 17-year old is not allowed to get behind the steering wheel herself. Her tournament win enables the Swiss to break into the Top 10 for the first time. The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix also makes it to the top — the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) elects the event “the world’s best women’s tournament”.
